Enviromental Economics: Sustainable supply chain management

Universität Duisburg-Essen is offering a lecture with a focus on assessing and measuring sustainable development from macro to micro levels with different normative perspectives along the supply chains systems. These perspectives include environmentally driven assessments, supply chain normative, closed loop supply chains and circular economies, logistics concepts, the global sustainable development framework, the quality-of-life perspective and crosscutting views. Moreover, the course will tackle the concepts which are bridging the macro and micro perspectives, like circular economy as well as urban system sustainability.

Open Aurora courses at the University of Innsbruck

Universität Innsbruck has opened 5 Aurora courses on a Bachelor, Master and PhD level. In addition, through Aurora, students have the opportunity to participate in classes organized by other Aurora universities. We welcome all students to sign up and participate in this spring's courses.

The courses are as follows:

• 800.860 Environment & Care: Canadian Perspectives (Bachelor Level, online, lecture, 3 ECTS Credits)
• 800.870 Social Entrepreneurship & Innovation focusing on Sustainability & Climate Change (Master Level, blended format/short term mobility, course, 5 ECTS Credits)
• 800.871 Educational Inequality (Master Level, online, lecture, 5 ECTS Credits)
• 800.872 Climate Protection (Master Level, online, lecture, 2,5 ECTS Credits)
• 645.900 Doctoral Seminar: "Borders and Places" (PhD Level, short term mobility, seminar 5 ECTS Credits)

The deadline for registration for the Bachelor's and Master's level courses is expected to last until January 30 (or until the maximum number of participants has been reached). The registration period for the system on PhD Level is expected to start on March 1.

Interdisciplinary Community Service Learning (iCSL): addressing challenges through transdisciplinary research

Blended - Free University of Amsterdam (VU)

The course is aimed for Master students from any discipline working on a thesis/internship/project-work related to any of the four themes (1. Climate change adaptation: urban gardens and urban agriculture; 2. Climate change mitigation: energy transitions; 3. Digital inclusion; 4. COVID-19).

The course provides students with the opportunity to work on their own graduation project, while at the same time work in a transdisciplinary team with students from other master programs and other countries working on a similar topic and involving local communities.

This course runs parallel to Master research, Internships or thesis and provides opportunity for students to collaborate across different disciplines in their Internship/research/thesis theme or topic. It aims to maximize the internship/research experience of students by engaging them in interdisciplinary and international collaborative ventures that are geared toward solving complex societal problems. The course also helps students build professional network, develop soft skills relevant for professional development, and be better prepared for a successful career after graduation.

[POSTPONED] Co-creation Training Workshop

The Co-Creation training will not be able to take place in the intended form. This is mainly due to the newly received regulations.Therefore, the full co-creation training will be postponed to a new date closer to the summer, on which we can carry out the full event in its intended form.

However, there will be a smaller online inspirational session on co-creation on February 3rd - 13:30-16:30, in which the topic will be introduced, keynotes on co-creation will take place and some of our AURORA experts will share and discuss their experience with co-creation. This will be a build up for the main event that will be carried out later on this year. We would like to invite you for this session! The Co-creation Training Workshop which will be held on February 3^rd to 5^th, 2022 at the Athena Institute, Vrije University Amsterdam (VUA), the Netherlands, will provide a platform for Co-creation experts, practitioners, interested researchers and educators, Ph.D. students, and community partners to discuss and share knowledge and experiences on co-creation practices aimed towards connecting science and society. The main aims of the event are as follows:

• Facilitate sharing of ideas and experiences on co-creation (best practices, pitfalls, innovations)
• Connect co-creation experts, practitioners, students, and community partners from around the world
• Build an engaged community of co-creation practitioners
• Foster co-creation practices in research and education within and beyond the AURORA alliance

How to innovate in your research

Based on your research, regardless of what point you are, and through three experiential workshops facilitated by an expert in co-creation for innovation with online collaborative tools, you will explore and detect real challenges and multidisciplinary design solutions.

The Universitat Rovira i Virgili from Tarragona presents this course, designed by doctoral students, as a first approach to co-creation methodologies that you can apply to your research, professional and personal life. You will learn to think about the future in the ideation process and move from idea to action into a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment.

Date: 26/01, 01/02 and, 9/02, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Language: English
Places: 18 PhD students. The places will be given according to the order of registration, which guarantees the teams' multidisciplinary.
