An eco-system is a collection of parties who work cooperatively and competitively to satisfy customer needs. Well-known examples are Google, Facebook, and Netflix, but there are many other eco-systems in the field, e.g., in Fintech, energy, and the automotive industry. In this course, we focus on eco-systems that provide e-services, which are defined as commercial services that can be provided or controlled via the Internet. Frequently, these eco-systems are disrupted by innovative information technologies, such as machine learning, blockchain, and 5G mobile. The overall goal of this course is to analyse disruptive opportunities for an eco-system given a particular emerging technology. This year, that technology is blockchain.

This hybrid course starts on February 8th, and continues throughout March. The course is open to MSc. level students and is worth 6 ECTS. An interest in conceptual modelling techniques (e.g. UML, BPMN, e3value, etc.) is a prerequisite. Aurora students can register by emailing Jaap Gordijn (j.gordijn@vu.nl). Students will receive a Zoom link after registering.

Teaching team: Jaap Gordijn, Marc Makkes, Fadime Kaya, Isaac da Silva, Tina van der Linden,Reinier van der Drift, Roel Wieringa, and Meindert Jansberg.
